This was poured into a stange.
The appearance was a ruddy burnt amber color with a sly transparency about it. Slim finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace.
The smell had a sweet cocoa powder to buttery smooth German yeastiness with a delicate floral to grassy underneath.
The flavor takes the previously mentioned flavors to blend nicely. Very smooth from aftertaste to finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Carbonation rides fairly light. Nice wet feel all around.
Overall, this was a damn nice altbier with the subtle cocoa powder underneath to round out. Also, as it warms, it reminds me of drinking nutella on toast.
