This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a thin off white to almost tan foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Sly lacing ran here and there.
The aroma started off with some deep sweet milk chocolate malts. And then roasty coffee bean makes a decent effort to balance. Ruddy with an ample amount of a nice light black licorice to boot.
The flavor leads nicely to a sweet smooth taste all around. Light raisin to balance. Semi-sweet to nice roasty edge in and around the aftertaste. Runs into the finish nice and quick.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Carbonation runs nice and light. Seems to spread evenly over my tongue in a smooth sort of way.
Overall, this is actually, probably their best offering in my opinion. Very nicely done American styled stout, now why couldn’t they just stick to this instead of doing all of that weird shit. And clean your tanks!
