Bottle. Black in color. Very large head. Aroma is dark roasted grains with hints of tropical fruits. Taste is like burnt toast, roasted nuts and roasted grains with hints of bananas and spice. Nice.

Deep dark brown colorued body with a thin, fast-dying tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, grapes, tobacco, light yeast and a touch of a banana and clove element. Medium-bodied; Strong malt flavour with a lot of wheat, grain and yeast flavours showing some roast, earth and a musty flavour. Aftertaste shows more malt and wheat than anything else, but a touch of the booze comes out near the end. Overall, a fairly muted and unassuming beer that doesn’t have any complexity or depth in flavours. Decent enough, but not showing much at all. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Giant Food in Falls Church, Virginia on 04-March-2016 for US$1,75 sampled at home in Washington on 25-May-2016.

Raisin and clove nose, mild. Mahogany., thin tan head. Clove, plum, dry. Medium body, moderate carbonation. I had this on draft and found it had more weizen character, with more abundant fruit esters and residual sweetness. From the bottle this drinks more like a Belgian brune, but still with weizen spice. I liked the draft better.
