Deep dark brown colorued body with a thin, fast-dying tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, grapes, tobacco, light yeast and a touch of a banana and clove element. Medium-bodied; Strong malt flavour with a lot of wheat, grain and yeast flavours showing some roast, earth and a musty flavour. Aftertaste shows more malt and wheat than anything else, but a touch of the booze comes out near the end. Overall, a fairly muted and unassuming beer that doesnβt have any complexity or depth in flavours. Decent enough, but not showing much at all. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Giant Food in Falls Church, Virginia on 04-March-2016 for US$1,75 sampled at home in Washington on 25-May-2016.

Raisin and clove nose, mild. Mahogany., thin tan head. Clove, plum, dry. Medium body, moderate carbonation. I had this on draft and found it had more weizen character, with more abundant fruit esters and residual sweetness. From the bottle this drinks more like a Belgian brune, but still with weizen spice. I liked the draft better.
