Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a semi-dark brown color with a thick finger’s worth of white foamy head with some light lacing.
The aroma starts with some sweet bready/doughy maltiness flowing over a rugged earthy bitter hoppiness. Slight spice, yet contained.
The flavor yields a nice roasty sweet taste rolling over the earthy spice to balance nicely. Crisp sweet malty aftertaste with a semi-sticky malty finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation seems good for what it is.
Overall, nice brown ale leaning towards the American style due to the bitterness level. I would have this again.
