Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a semi-dark brown color with a nice finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Sly stringy lace.
The aroma blends some dried cocoa powder across some caramel and nutty malts. Some butterscotch and toffee plays in the background. Crisp semi-sweet biscuity malts and then some grassy hops.
The flavor leads with the malts, cocoa semi-sweet, like Baker’s chocolate. Malty biscuity tones. Crisp grassy hops in the backbone. Malty aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. Smooth sweet feel along my tongue.
Overall, nice brown leaning towards the English side. Even seemed hopped like one. Would have again if I could get it.
