This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a nice finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a moderate pace. Sly stringy lace.
The aroma had some roasty sweet coffee beans toying with some vanilla beans. Subtle Baker’s chocolate is in the background.
The flavor blends it together nicely. Crisp roasty coffee to chocolate to vanilla beans aftertaste rolling into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. Sly smoothness along my tongue.
Overall, nicely done porter leaning towards the English side with the vanilla bean to balance.
