Poured into an English pint glass, the appearance was a ruddy dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of off white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Sly messy lacing.
The aroma had a nice blend between roasty coffee bean to vanilla bean. Subtle sweetness from the vanilla bean coming out nicely.
The flavor balanced nicely between the vanilla and roasty coffee bean. Sweet to roast invades fully on into the aftertaste and runs into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionable sort of smooth feel. Roast is there but tame enough to allow a nice carbonation to keep it from becoming too rugged. ABV feels good for what it is.
Overall, nicely done porter that’s pretty crushable as that ABV is low enough to make me want to slam more of this in the Autumn or Spring.
