Ending my buddy’s care package with what I expect from Michigan.
This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was jet black color with a nice little tan head. Adequate foamy lace.
The aroma had a wonderful blend of roasted malts, roasted nuts, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, coffee bean, and then ends with a nice vanilla bean.
The flavor balanced practically perfect between all of the previously mentioned aromas and dove into the aftertaste just as I wanted it to.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium to almost full on the body with a clever sipping format really making me slow down as I went further into the beer. ABV felt just as projected by the brewer.
Overall, this is what I expect from a Michigan brewer but once again, I have to ask the question: why am I the first to write anything on this. Hard stare over there, wake up Michigan!
