Imperial wheat they say? I wasn’t sure what to pour my portion in from the growler share. I wanted the \"weizen\" glass but it’s an \"imperial,\" hmmmmm....so I ended up opting for the tulip.
The appearance was a semi-rugged copper color, somewhat thick in it’s haziness but still an ever so slight transparency is trying to make it’s way out. Good finger’s worth of white foamy head. Lace wants to cling, but slides.
The aroma seems to hit upon a light citrusy to lemony crisp pulpy sweetness initially and then faithfully opens up into a malted wheatiness. Light spice (ginger or allspice? Not sure, to be honest, seems vague and quite different).
The flavor brings the sweet wheat to shape upon the citrus and lemon pulpy sweetness. Spice seems barely there. And then a nicely blended sweet wheaty/pulpiness strolling into the aftertaste and impounding the finish in the same way.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nicely cherished smooth sweet crushable wheaty maltiness. ABV, what ABV? Doesn’t seem like 8%, but maybe I shouldn’t argue as I feel like I pound this all day.
Overall, they say they imperialized a hefeweizen with this one. Leaves me scratching my beard on this one, I mean I liked it but somewhat am perplexed on how they did it. Hoping they bring this back this Summer.
