Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a ruddy burnt copper color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a good pace. Mild lace seems quaint enough.
The aroma takes on some tangerine and orange peel, sweet yet bitter providing a touch of the rind mildly. Just a touch of clove and then a nice earthy leafiness settling along some mild maltiness.
The flavor packs the malts in with that clove, semi-sweet with the spice pummeling the malty level down just a touch. Light toast and then an herbal quality comes in. All seems to represent themselves nicely in the aftertaste and ride on into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation and the ABV felt fine.
Overall, fairly nice saison worthy of having again and reminding me of Autumn which is when I had it, I just don’t know what year, sorry.
