Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a slight golden yellow to copper color with a film of a white foamy head that fell off at a decent pace. Sly lace.
The aroma had some malty sweet caramel/toffee tones rolling over some nuts. Light grassy hops underneath.
The flavor makes a decent effort to blend the malts to the hops but mainly keeps the malts up front sticking to my taste buds fairly nice and clean. Moderate bitter sort of finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Slight sort of stickiness along my tongue, but acceptable. ABV felt as projected despite being just a tad higher than normal for the style, I didn’t mind.
Overall, really good as a beer, just to have as a beer. I didn’t mind the higher alcohol content for Lake Placid’s version of this style.
