Last one of the growler share.
The appearance was a mostly dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of eggshell white foamy head. Eloquent looking foamy strings of lace gloss the sides of the glass.
The aroma had a nice blend of piney sharp hops embracing a slight citrusy hoppy contour rolling over some dark and roasty malts. Just a little bit of dark chocolate nibs split between the hops to add some bitterness.
The flavor takes the bitter of the hops with the chocolate nibs and then runs with the roast and then a light sweetness comes in pretty nice. Light aftertaste of the prior mentioned flavors nips the finish fairly well.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fair sipping quality about it. There’s a lot going on with this one, so it’s does it’s \"palate wrecking\" ability normally associated with the style. ABV felt appropriate. Tongue feels a bit numb from what everything that’s going on.
Overall, definitely one of Westtown’s better beers. And really happy I got to enjoy this one.
