Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a dark red close to brown color with just a cap of a little white head that slides out into oblivion. No lace.
The aroma had some semi-sweet nutty to caramel malts. Earthy bitter hops, some citrus.
The flavor leaned into the malts fairly sweet. Hops make a good play to add a bigger than normal bitterness in this style. Aftertaste was full of the hops and so was the finish.
The feel was between light and medium bodied. Carbonation felt just a touch over. ABV felt decent.
Overall, as a brown ale fan, it’s hard to recommend this one. And Big Buck brews better beers than this, to be honest.
