Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a semi-dark brown almost black color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a mild pace. Some lace.
The aroma had some sweet to roasty dark coffee and chocolate nibs at the forefront. Some light spruce-like to semi-sweet earthy fresh needle tips soften the roast with some minty herbs.
The flavor yields to the roasty coffee and chocolate initially and then gently slides into a light minty herbal quality. Subtle touches of some oats came in for a nice semi-smooth balance. Yields to a nice blend in the aftertaste to follow into the finish.
The feel was about medium bodied with a full sessionable sort of quality about it. Minty fresh smoothness seemed to even pull an even further smoothness with the oatmeal. ABV felt good. Carbonation felt good as well.
Overall, damn nice idea for a stout. I hope they can this!
