The appearance was a sturdy dark brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head. Some light lace.
The aroma had some caramel/toffee malts, cocoa powder, roasted nuts. Slight earthy/grassy hops at the end.
The flavor leaned into the sweetness of this and ended up bringing out some biscuits to the balance of it all. Dry earthiness played with the malts in the aftertaste to follow through in the finish.
The finish was about medium bodied with a good sipping to sessionable sort of smooth feel rolling over my tongue. Light roast showed some abrasion but nothing barring the mobility along my tongue.
Overall, pretty good brown ale that I wouldn’t mind being able to try again.
