A European-style Dark / Münchener Dunkel. Deep reddish-mahogany in color with sweet caramel malt, nutty and toffee notes, and roasted hints. Penn Dark has a moderate hopping rate and a crisp, clean lager beer finish. A surprisingly smooth dark beer.

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine - Naples, FL. Pours a crystal clear mahogany color with a small khaki head and fair retention. Almost no lacing. Malty aroma. Dark, sweet malt flavor with a hint of smoke in the finish. Super clean and really easy drinking. One dimensional, but good. Very chuggable. Medium-light body. Medium-light carbonation too. Not bitter.

Some roast and generally easy drinking. Black pour with good head and lacing. Crisp finish with hint of malt tang. Like halfway between dunkel and schwarzbier. Bottle.

Bottle: Pours deep brown, clear and red backlit... Small, off-white head. Chocolate, grainy aroma. Taste is slightly roasty...chocolate malt, dark caramel. Mild....has a nice rich taste and body for the low weight.

12 ounce bottle. Mahogany hue with a small creamy beige head. Toasted malt nose has a metallic twinge. Sweet roasted malt upfront. Soft nutty palate. Creamy mouthfeel with a mild cocoa finish. Some dryness as well. Less bold than a Bavarian Dunkel, but still tasty.
