Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a soft burnt orange color with a thin white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Light stringy lace.
The aroma had some sweet caramel/toffee malts, light grassy hops and a little bit of floral hop qualities coming out as it warmed.
The flavor was somewhat sweet with a decent backing from the hops to pull down the maltiness. Light aftertaste of the malts. Low malty finish.
The palate was roughly medium bodied, perhaps just a tad under with a pretty good sessionability about it. Fairly low carbonation (which is good for the style) and an ABV that though almost sat out of range for the style performed what seemed was somewhat what the brewer intended.
Overall, pretty good ESB that I could have again if I could get it.
