Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a fairly dark brown color with a cap of a little white foamy head that fell off at a decent pace. No lace.
The aroma had some sweet to smokey peat up front, light earthiness with some grassiness, good amount of herbal qualities, light caramel/toffee malt backbone and a little bit of leather.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet and smokiness at first and then developed a light earthy sort of spice to it. Herbal qualities present a decent blend. Herbal and smokey aftertaste with a nice smooth herbal sort of finish.
The feel was between light and medium bodied with a good sessionability about it. ABV wasn’t too noticeable. Carbonation was fairly low but that’s what should be expected in this style.
Overall, pretty good Scotch ale worthy of having again if I could get it.
