Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was slight burnt copper color with a slight transparency to it. Light film of a little white foamy cap. Nice lace.
The aroma had a nice blend of biscuits/white bread, somewhat like toast, but also having some leather and a little bit of earthy to grassy hops that I expected.
The flavor cued up the malts fairly nice to impart some of that expected dry malty smoothness to play with the hops. Fairly decent aftertaste with just a touch of expected diacetyl but not distracting. Finish was crisp.
The palate was between light and medium bodied with a good sessionability about it. Fairly low carbonation and though the ABV was just a tad higher for the style, it still worked for the most part.
Overall, pretty nice ESB that I could come back to.
