Growler share from a visit with my parents. Reviewed from notes.
Poured into an English pint glass, the appearance was a murky red color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that held and fell off at a decent pace.
The aroma had a sweet herbal to floral hop content up front flowing over a nice caramel/toffee malt base. Light nuts at the end.
The flavor leaned towards the herbal/floral semi-sweet and dry qualities up front casting the malt base a bit more towards the side. Nice aftertaste leaning more towards the herbal/floral tones. Finish was the same.
The palate was almost medium bodied, just a tad under with a very good sessionability about it. Low carbonation. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, this is rated to style and would be very close to the true \"Irish\" style, however, I’m guessing many Americans aren’t going to like this one with the low hop quality to it. I’d still have this again!
