Tanfield Heavy is the little brother of our flagship export ale; but don't let that fool you. Lower ABV is no compromise for lesser body and flavour, this 70 Shilling style ale still packs a punch with a big bold malty flavour and hoppy backbone that would make its stronger sibling proud. Brewed to pay homage to Peterhead's brewing tradition and those that paved the way for Brew Toon

Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours deep chestnut brown with a small off - white head. The aroma is malt - driven, bitter - sweet, brown bread, dried fruits, raisin, sultana, fruit cake, malt loaf and a splash of cola. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, toasty grains, woody, some spice, toasted fruit cake, resin, leather and some toasted nuts with a drying, toasty finish. Light to average body and moderate carbonation. Rather flavourful for the abv. Nice bitterness to it.
