Smells Like Freedom is our collaboration with Oskar Blues. The dank, 7-percent IPA — which is being re-brewed in spring 2019 by both breweries — is a nod to D.C.’s Initiative 71, the marijuana-legalization measure that was approved way back in November 2014 and has now been in effect for 5 years.

Canned. Orangey pour. I guess it was pretty weedy aroma but I didn’t really smell/taste it as much as I did the citrus. Regradless it’s pretty good.

Pint can from State Line, 8/24/22, 11:59 PM. I’m up too late. Two awesome breweries not afraid of hops so I’m excited to try this. Mildly hazy amber, large beige head, good retention. Aroma of leafy, green hops, dank, citrus, melon, hay. Taste is dank, resin, weed, citrus. Strong lingering bitterness. Suspected it would be like this given the name. So fuck the Wisconsin tavern league. I don’t like marijuana, but it should be legalized. Less dangerous than the beer I’m drinking right now. #Legalize. I like this beer.

16oz can pours out golden topped with a white head. Nose is nice rich malts pine citrus hop kick. Taste is more of the nice pine citrus hops and a light malts.

Refrigerated 16 oz. aluminum can, canned on April 9, 2019 poured into a glass. Clear amber with medium white head. Aroma is herbal hops, medium/light body, medium carbonation, and pretty good lacing. Taste is herbal hops and caramel malt.

Can. Clear golden colour. Aroma Amarillish, resiny, citrusy. Taste very nicely balanced, lots of bitterness and hops flavour, Amarillo but also exotic fruitiness. Very tasty very good.

Can kindly donated by Miro, many thank. Golden color with medium white head. Citrus hoppy aroma. Taste tropical fruits, oranges, zest, pines in taste. Solid malty backbone. Long hoppy bitter finish. Tasty.

Pint or 12 ounce pour at GBD. Poured a clear golden yellow with a huge fluffy white head. Aroma was lots of tropical fruit notes, grapefruit, juicy, borders on grassy, but doesn’t quite make it there. No "dank"/B.O./patchouli smell that I associate with *that* particular product. With that said, this is a solid IPA, nicely hopped, alcohol is not too high, malt isn’t overpowering.

12oz can from the brewery pours a murky, dark orange with some thin, lacing white head. If dank is what they wanted, dank is what they got, big onion/chive note, very grassy, earthy pine, some lemon, some rotting tropical fruit, flower pollen, patchouli. Flavor follows right along, piney, mildly minty, more of that patchouli, very grassy, garlic scapes, scallion. Fairly easy drinker too.
