The Three Sisters – Mango is a fruited Sour Saison crafted in honor of an agricultural past. Pouring a straw yellow, rustic malts and a blend of Belgian yeasts fill the air with notes of bread crust, mango yogurt, and hints of pear. The addition of fresh mango purée brings a potent tropical note to this historical beer. Saaz and Hallertau Mittelfrüh hops bring forth complementary notes of garden herbs, noble spice, and lemon tea.

Very little is accomplished alone, a truth that is self-evident to anyone tending their garden. The Three Sisters is an ancient technique where maize, beans, and squash merge in harmonious symbiosis. The tall stalk of the corn acts as a trellis for the beans to climb, and in turn its leaves shade and protect the squash underneath. We are at our best when we follow nature’s lead, cultivate the route, and extrapolate its teachings into our own lives. We hope you enjoy this beer while contemplating the natural world, our agrarian past, and our place between the two.

Winter 2026 can drunk 2/24/26.
Lovely mango puree in the nose is neither cheap/sugary or overdone. Not getting any crude phenols/esters behind it, though I'm also not getting tons of saison character of any type. Nor am I getting much lactic acidity. Quite mango-forward, even if the mango is tasteful, with rustic grains to balance.
In the flavor, there's an interesting mix of mango puree, lactic acid and some actual saison yeast, though it feels a bit clovey and bubble gummy. Body is quite light, though not thin.

I thought the unfruited version was a bit truer to the saison style. The saison is obscured by the mango combination here. Feels more like a kettle sour than a fruited saison with souring bacteria.

Oh my goodness! Pours a lightly hazy, pale lemon yellow, with smallish head. Aroma is strong gust of mango, some sour esters. Flavors are sour mango, brett yeast, other sour flavors, but all very bright and pronounced. Clean, crisp mouthfeel. I don't think I've justice to this one--it tastes amazing.
