On tap at Coppertail, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out toasted malt with a hint of cocoa. Flavour is along the same lines, with chalky cocoa and light toasted malt. Chalky palate, with a dusty cocoa-y finish. Meh - I don't get the high ratings here.

Six pack at home grabbed from super market. Lovely dark brown pour. Nose is earthy and chocolate. Tastes of earth, chocolate, anise, peanut butter, light cola. Touch thin on palate but smooth palate. Overall solid straightforward porter.

Usual thin Porter, small hints of chocolate and roasted malt that gets me in the mood for a thick stout.

12 oz. bottle. Pours an opaque black with a dirty-white foam that dissipates quickly. Aroma is slightly sweet with scents of chocolate, coffee, and vanilla. Taste is moderately sweet with flavors of milk chocolate. I would consider this medium bodied, but it seems just a tad thin for a porter. Most of the porters I’ve tried have had more a "heft" to them. Texture is creamy and slightly slick. Carbonation seems to be a little more than average. The finish is more of that chocolate flavor.
Overall, this is a really nice beer. But for a porter, I wished it was a little more full bodied. Considering that my local grocery store is carrying this, I’m sure I will be drinking a lot more of this fine beer.
