Near clear amber beer, small and short lived bubbly pale tan head. Smooth and slightly viscous palate, decent fine carbonation. Soft malts, a good creamy caramel sweetness, some of that in debt to the added caramel. A lovely pear liqueur vibe here, slightly ripe pear. Orange oils, soft cinnamon both obvious adjuncts. Vanilla fairy well integrated and more obvious on the smooth and slightly viscous finish. Nice brew. I think less would have been more here. The pear brandy barrel tastes sublime and I think all of the adjuncts could have been junked. That said, the overall flavour profile is unusual and pretty tasty. But, to reiterate, a good malt base, which this beer has and just the pear brandy barrel would, imho, been a superior offering. All that said, I really enjoyed this one.
