Black Raven is a black IPA, aka Cascadian Dark Ale. Roasted malts give this beer its dark color & rich flavor. But make no mistake, this is still an IPA, with a massive amount of hops selected to balance the roasted malt character & add bitterness & flavor.

Bomber from Bruisin’ Ales. Pours dark brown with a 3 finger creamy/foamy tan head. Aroma is roast malt, tingling hop and chocolate in that order. About med body. Flavor is bitter burnt malt, chocolate and floral/citrus/earthy hop in that order. It’s doing a bit of ring lacing, and the hop stands out firmly in the finish. Very nice.

Pours a very dark chestnut brown - deep garnet highlights. Tall, long lasting, sticky light tan head. Light roast malt aroma. The flavor is light roast malt, dry dusty palate. This is ok, but i’d rather have either the IPA or the Stout or Porter. Black IPA still seeks it’s niche.
