Black Raven is a black IPA, aka Cascadian Dark Ale. Roasted malts give this beer its dark color & rich flavor. But make no mistake, this is still an IPA, with a massive amount of hops selected to balance the roasted malt character & add bitterness & flavor.

Location: Draft at Amos Howard, 1/4/15
Aroma: It has a light roasted malt and light hop aroma, feels a hint dull, but not bad.
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a creamy head on top.
Flavor: It has a clean, balanced flavor, with a light roast, and a light bitterness as well.
Palate: This one feels a touch thin, pretty easy drinking, with a light dry finish.
Overall Impression: This is an alright Black IPA, not a favorite of mine, but something I didn't dislike either.

On tap. Pours a near clear dark brown with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of earthy grass and dark grains as well as a pine bitterness. Flavor has more pine and resin with a creamy dark grain backing.
