Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours light gold with a small white head. Very light bready aroma. Med minus body. Flavor is very clean - like barley flavored water. I can only imagine the hops. So this is more or less what our troops used to get. Poor bastards.

Someone left this in my fridge so I figure what the hell, I’ll give it a shot. Pours clear golden color with white head. Grainy malt aroma. Bland, inoffensive flavor with some bitterness. Light body with crisp carbonation.

12oz bottle at the Cherry Blast art event in SE Washington DC. I actually liked this better than the regular Kirin Ichiban in terms of flavor. Still your standard pale lager, grassy, metallic aroma. Industrial flavor. Dry finish.

Looks like lighter yellow sparklin water. A lighter enjoyable beer on the palate. Better than many domestic light beers. Fun, fizzy bubbly palate. Slight industrial linger in the background but otherwise well behaved. Overall good experience for this lager loaver. Looking forward to another bottle of this stuff. One of the better pale lagers I’ve tasted.

12oz bottle-pours a dissipating white head and yellow color. Aroma is grain/husky, rice? Taste is grain/husky, rice/adjuncts for sure, cardboard, slight hops. 2.0 That was when it was cold. As it warms, its less palatable. Final 1.6

Really pale straw. Aroma of broccoli-accented icing sugar. Extremely empty palate. Hollowed out, gutted, soulless. They mixed icing sugar, baking soda and water.

Of course, since it is a light beer, it won’t be half as good as the original beer it’s based on. This is the case for this beer.
