This huge Mild was brewed with our good friend Sam Dickison to celebrate Boxcar’s legacy of excellence in this style. Expect big hits of complex malts, plums and raisins, a smooth creamy body, and a touch of roast for balance.

440ml can. Pours a very dark brown with a beige/tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, plum, chocolate, raisins, treacle. Taste is rich and malty, sweet, chocolate, plum, raisin, toffee, molasses, some roast malt adding just a touch of bitterness. Medium bodied, creamy and smooth.
Great to see Boxcar's mild back again, if only for a one off.

Can from The Beerhive. Dark brown body with ruby highlights and a thick beige head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of Twiglets and dumpling. Flavour of dark chocolate, caramel and blueberries. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Rich and interesting.

Takeaway can from From Beer To Eternity, Havant. Dark with a brown tint. Thin foamy beige head. Aroma has coffee and berries with a nutty element. Bitter (coffee, liqourice) with a light berry streak over a creamy and nutty base. Light-medium bodied. Slick to oily. Soft-average carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Definitely no trad mild but good stuff.
