Sampled from 0.75 l bottle from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', bottled in December 2016. Hazy, golden yellow with a medium large, fluffy, slowly diminishing, white head. A bit sweetish, sourish, fruity-spicy and slightly funky aroma of ginger, lemon, horseblanket and hay. Moderately sour, fruity, moderately herbal and slightly funky taste of ginger, lemon, horseblanket and hay, followed by a medium long, rather tart, woody-dry and herbal-spicy finish. Thin to medium body, slightly astringent and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice!

750 ml bottle into snifter; bottled in 6/2017, best before end of 2023. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big tart lemon, lime, ginger, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, green apple, melon, white wine, citrus zest, peppercorn, oak, hay, straw, herbal, grass, wheat, white bread, light leathery/musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/light acidic yeast, ginger, oak, pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart lemon, lime, ginger, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, green apple, melon, white wine, citrus zest, peppercorn, oak, hay, straw, herbal, grass, wheat, white bread, light leathery/musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Moderate peppery yeast/ginger/oak spiciness and some lactic tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart lemon, lime, ginger, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, green apple, melon, white wine, citrus zest, peppercorn, oak, hay, straw, herbal, grass, wheat, white bread, light leathery/musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/light acidic yeast, ginger, oak, pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tart/spiciness balance, and zero puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Moderate increasing dryness from tart/spiciness and carbonation. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/acidic/sticky, and lightly tannic balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol for 6%. Touch of lingering ginger spice heat through the glass. Overall this is a fantastic spiced gueuze style! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/light acidic yeast, ginger, oak, pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink; with the modestly tart/spicy/drying finish, never overly lactic. Classic barnyard Gueuze Brett funk with balanced ginger spice vibrancy; nice oak presence and malt backing against acidity. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example. Never overdone on any aspect.

Flaska från SB drucken med ölföreningen. En ganska snäll lambik med kryddig smak där ingefären märks men inte jättetydligt. Även citrus och lite funk. Gott.

Hazy . The aroma has all kinds of ginger. This is tart, simple, lots and lots of ginger. To me, quite simple, not even getting a lot of brett on this, or wood. To be honest, I don't think you'd know this was gueuze, just a ginger sour. I like ginger beer and this is just ok. If I didn't, I don't know, I'd probably really not like this at all.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden with a medium white head. Aroma is loaded with ginger upfront, with a wonderful barnyard funk character to complement. Flavour wonderfully blends ginger and barnyard funk together in a way I never would have imagined before, with leather and citrus zest. The potent ginger really adds another dimension to this. Lovely.

At Brugs Bierfestival, 4 February 2018. Cheers to Anke & Pieter!

Thanks to the people at the brewer's stand for the big sample and the rest of the bottle! Double the enjoyment! Hazy ochre with a small, frothy, white head. Subtle yet complex aroma of ginger, honey, leather & barnyard, yeast, orange, mandarin and apple. Light spicy bitter onset (with indeed hints of ginger), turning light to medium funky sour, underlying fruity tones. Light tart, dry finish, very subtle spices. Medium body, slick texture, lively carbonation. Deftly executed.
