This beer internally was called "2nd peach/2nd gin" but in fact it's actually second use on all of the 2024 RAMA fruit, including the larger amount of apricots we got last year. These represent some of the last Big Gin barrels that we had in house, and I've always been a big fan of the second use gin barrels, I find that they lack the ABV punch of fresh wet barrels and show enough restraint that they work better in blends, so pairing them with second-use stone fruit seemed like a no brainer. This beer on the aroma definitely brings gin, both juniper and citrus are right there. Then you get apricot roll-up and then a pleasant peach character. The constituent barrels include the 2x ex-chardonnay french oak barrels we gave to Alex at Captive Spirits which went into 2024 Captive Spirits, and those thankfully had only gin character and no oak, so we were very happy to use them again and keep the beer in them for quite a while. These were filled with a wheat saison that becomes Selves Collapse. The other two ex-bourbon ex-gin barrels were filled with Sen XXVIII, a spelt saison.
When I started Floodland I wanted to make more of these lighter, nuanced fruit referments. The more heavily fruited beers still seem to be what most people gravitate towards, but this one is right in the pocket for me. If you like our gin barrel-aged beers, I apologize that they may be coming to an end as this is certainly a great example of how cool they can be when used in an integrated fashion with lighter fruit.

Pale, and dullish colour. Peachy aroma, with some gin. The body has a good sweet malt note, with some stone fruit tartness. There's a good gin character that lends spiciness to the peach/apricot. A good dose of stone fruit tartness on this one.

750mL bottle, pours a cloud yellow with a large white head. Aroma is full of peaches upfront, apricot, lots of bugs, and a touch of oak. Flavour is super juicy, with intense peaches and apricots, deep juiciness, moderate tartness and acidity, and some oak. Juicy, nicely buggy, gently acidic finish. Excellent.

Poured from 750mL can. Hazed yellow with small white head. Lots of apricots and peaches, blends nicely, quite nice. On par with 2022.

750mL bottle. Pours murky blonde with a white head. Saison yeast, stone fruits, and gentle botanicals on the nose. Flavour has plenty of apricots, gentle to moderate tartness, saison yeast, and some pleasant botanical accents. Juicy, acidic, and all comes together very well. Fantastic.
