Originally crafted to survive the trip across the Atlantic to the colonies, Export Stout has stood the test of time. Our modern interpretation has the same high ABV and abundant hops, balanced with a rich malt character and notes of chocolate, graham cracker and coffee.

Dark brown. Thick head. The nose is chocolatey, with lots of toffee. Good body, moderate bitterness. Balanced. Not much in the way of fruitiness, the unique characteristic of many foreign stouts, but I guess export stout may not need it? Solid effort.

16oz can at Hps & Bottles. Dark brown pour, soft, filmy beige head, rings of lacing all the way down. Light roasty aroma, woody notes. Taste introduces chocolate, mild sweetness and some barely there fruity character. Nailed the style!
