LASSO is the new frontier of India Pale Ale. Brewed with a robust roundup of Columbus, Centennial and Cascade hops, its sessionable simplicity proves bigger isn’t always better. But make no mistake – the Wild West hasn’t gone mild. That same untamed IPA spirit thrives, and we reckon this’ll go down mighty fine.

Bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours golden copper with a transient white head. Aroma is roasty caramel with some citrus notes. Med minus body. Flavor is citrus with roasty caramel. It’s bitter in the finish. The middle part isn’t ... Don’t know what to put there.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of pine with a hint of onion and a grain backbone. Flavor has a more reserved hop profile that has more of a grass note with a touch of onion and sweet grains in the finish.

Pours a clear golden-amber, with almost no head. Aroma is very floral, grassy. And the flavor is, too--dominated by very grassy hops. Little by way of pine or citrus. A bit underwhelming.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run, bottled Jan. 10, 2014. And Great Divide is back in Virginia yet again. We’ll see how long it lasts this time. Pours a clear copper color with a large frothy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of citrus, floral and resin hops, some caramel maltiness. The taste is bitter resin hops, candied citrus, citrus, some green hops and a solid caramel malt backbone. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness, moderate carbonation, decent balance. Solid beer.
