This Belgian-inspired pale ale highlights the hops of New York State, including cones grown locally in the village of Tarrytown. 100% New York grains and wildflower honey balance the natural spice of Belgian style yeast with a smooth malt flavor.

Very, very, very carbonated leading me to believe there was quite a bit of refermentation in the can. Doesn't smell like it's mid refermentation, at least. Some powdered sugar is the only major detractor here, but unfortunately, it smells rather of the crude "Belgian" variety of beer (aka American "Belgian"). Just a nose full of clove and white pepper with light bubble gum behind it. Malt seems ample, at least, leaving biscuit and cracker in its wake.
Same goes for the flavor. Though honestly, it's not THAT clovey. There's some soft, dusty cellar funk and unripe melon skin, but a lot of white pepper. Minimal bubble gum, no banana and moderate but not acidic/overbearing clove. If this was underfermented, it seems to have refermented to a pretty good balance of malt and dryness. Not gonna make you think you're in Belgium, but it could be much, much worse.
