Clear brown color with a medium thin light beige head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Sparse strings of lacing on the glass. Malty aroma with caramel and fruit notes. Medium to full body with flavors of caramel malt, ripe fruit, and a touch of earthy yeast. The finish is fruity yeast and malt. Decent overall.

Draft shaker. Clear dark brown with orange hues. Aroma is cookie dough gingerbread malts without the spices. So, a cool aroma. Light plums and cherry from the yeast but low esters and not overly sweet smelling. Flavor is similarly surprisingly missing the pitfalls of many Belgians. Unsugary sweet malts with plums and lightly bitter cookie. Sweet aftertaste but a light and clean filtered body easy it off. Light body and surprisingly high alcohol. Maybe a bit of a burn at the very end.

Deep dark brown with a pretty bright amber, brown and copper colour, along with a fast-dying single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of candy sugar, toffee, caramel, nuts, earth, deep pitted fruits and a bit of yeast along with metal. Rich nutty and earthy flavours dominate with a big presence of candy sugar, fruits, unfinished yeast and some deep and slightly bitter alcohol and metallic notes. Aftertaste shows some fruitier flavours with apples, pears, figs, raisins and a little oranges as well, but the malt, alcohol and metal are the strongest here. Overall, a decent beer, not bad by any means, just not what I was expecting and not good for any style, whatever it happens to fall in, but a ’belgie strong’ sounds decent enough. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from The Perfect Pour in Elk Ridge, Maryland on 23-February-2016 for US$3,99, which was produced (or ’kicked out’ as the BOTTOM of the can states) on 06-January-2016, sampled at home in Washington on 11-October-2016.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a very dark brown color with orange highlights and a medium sized foamy beige head that faded and left no lacing. The aroma was malty, sweet and boozy with notes of cherry and plum. The flavor was sweet, malty and toasty with strong elements of cherry, plum and fig. There was a strong boozy presence that worked initially but quickly began to overwhelm. Long finish. Moderately full bodied. Quite nice.

Can from R.F.D. in Dc. Comes off like a watered down quad. Prune, brown sugar tastes and aroma, some Belgian yeast, but without the thick body or ABV to back it up. Not sure what the intent was here....

City tap house, DC pours reddish brown with a white head. Aroma is bubblegum, candied sugar, and yeast. Taste is really sweet and really full of candy. Too much sugar and too cloying for me.

Kind of off style. Seems more like a brown ale than a Belgian. Pours dark brown with OK head and lacing. Light caramel and roast with mostly a sweet finish. Thick and slightly syrupy consistency. Tap at american taproom.
