Grapefruit and roast. Balances pretty well between styles. Dark brown pour with only a limited head. Bitter end. Tap at brewery.

4 oz pour on draft at Tin Cannon with a Mustang Sally yelling DCLawyer. Dark brownish black with beige head. Aromas of citrus, floral notes, pine, roast. Tastes of floral notes, pine, roasty notes, citrus. Medium body with a dry finish. Pretty good.

On draft at the brewery. Pours a clear dark cola with an ecru head. Aroma of leather. Flavors of tobacco and grass. Mildly bitter finish.

Sampled at the brewery pours a murky black with some lacing white head. Nose is solid for the style, soapy, mild resin, some burnt toast. Flavor follows, soap, pith, resin, malt, burnt cracker. Dry finish.

Keg at the brewery. Hazy brown with a thin frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, citrus hops, butter. The taste is bitter, astringent hops, roasted malt, chocolate, butter. Thin bodied, mild lingering bitterness.

Draft at the source. Clear very dark brown color, bright beige head. Aroma is very subtle. Nice roasty flavor, coffee grounds mostly, lightly bitter finish.

Draft at the source. Dark cola color. Aroma is mostly mild and subdued. with perhaps a touch of coffee. Flavor is roasted malts, cocoa. Light pine resin on the finish. Nailed it.
