6oz pours a murky cola brown with some beige head. Nose has malt, toast, oats, carob. Flavor is burnt toast, malt, grain, cocoa. Finishes a touch watery, otherwise dry.

Roast and a little smoke. Great profile here, lots of flavour. Black, dark murky brown pour with great nitro carpet of mocha head. Big body, almost chunky texture. Bitter finish. Nitro at Union Market location.

$2,80 pint can, WW. Black with a small tan head. Dry malt, light berry nose. Roasted malt, earth, dust. Dry with very little flavor. Really disappointing.

Draft at the source. Opaque brown, thick creamy tan nitro head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of cocoa powder. Taste is dilute Italian chocolate soda. OK.

Charcoal nose. Cola brown, medium tan head, good lace. Walnut, charcoal, rich flavor. Medium body, creamy. Very well made, delicious.

Nitro at the brewery, 10/23/14. Pours a dark brown with a thin creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of roasted malts and chocolate. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, briny notes, cherries. Medium bodied, mild lingering bitterness.

Draft at the brewpub in Leesburg. Poured a dark brown color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was some roasted malts, dark fruits, roasted earth. Flavor was roasted malts, dark fruit, earthy hops. Some coffee-like roast character. Easy to drink.
