Working in tandem with the excellent Black Cat bars from Liverpool we were really excited to make this ESB!! A gorgeously Ruby Red bordering Chestnut Brown in colour from a carefully crafted array of 5 malts giving a depth of flavour emblematic of this style of traditional English Ale. A base malt of Heritage #19 Marris Otter gives a solid groundwork of breadiness. Touches of sweet Crystal malt provide flavours of raisin. Brown malt gives a toastiness whilst Amber malt provides a lovely biscuit character. Just a small touch of Roast barley for depth of colour finishes this malt profile off. Classic Goldings hops offer up their distinct earthy aroma to fully round out and make this Extra Special Bitter.

The Sculptor Douglas Tilden was on this very drinking day in 1901 declared insane. Dark glowing amber coloured, and it does have a clean tasting bitterness, with underlying tasty malts, so special enough within its own style.
