A crisp, drinkable IPA. The earthy deliciousness of Cascade and Simcoe hops, combined with upfront malt flavor, and balanced with a pirate’s sensibilities. Our Eye Patch Ale is a uniquely drinkable take on the American IPA – sweet caramel, citrusy flowers and swashbuckling adventure abound with every pint.

Tap @ Braves All Star Grill, Atlanta. Amber with a small head. It’s a fruity, with a stated pale ale texture. Has a citrus bitterness and a fair nose in this respect.

Bottle: Cloudy amber with a creamy white head. Aroma has a little of that bready/spray paint thing.... Lively carbonation and tingle...orange and caramel malt taste. Definitely a lot of metal and odd notes in here..... Aaaaar,...perhaps it be gold I’m tastin’.......not very good, I’m afraid...worse than my pirate talk.

Bottle (courtesy of Cybercat). Metallic orange malt and grapefruit peel aroma. Golden yellow with giant white head. Sweet but strong tinny orange malt and orange peel flavor. Medium body. Pretty rough.

Bottle. Clear golden amber color, big pillowy white head. Aroma of floral citrus. Taste is very sweet, light citrus. Could be better balanced.

Slightly hazy gold pour with a tall, off-white head. Juicy malt and citrus hop aroma The flavor is well balanced between the malt sweetness and the hop bitterness. A tad thin for my palate but no flaws and seems to be quite sessionable. .

From tap at Taco Mac. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is peachy and grapefruity hoppy. Smooth peachy, wineous and light herbal. Bitter and crisp hoppy finish. Soapy.

On tap at the Friday’s within the Atlanta airport and poured into a large 22oz like schooner glass and super duper cold. It has a clear deep gold body with copper hues and a dirty white head of foam that leaves behind some sheet lacing. The mild aroma is pretty unremarkable with vague bitter hops leaning toward citrus with faint maltiness and sweetness in the background. The taste delivers a moderate level of citrus and seemingly slightly acidic bitterness. It has sort of a lemon lime like quality with fairly thin body and minimal malt presence. I do get a faint drying and slight roasted maltiness into the finish. This could use more late addition to the boil flavor hops to create a bit more balance and depth as it seems I’m only getting bittering hops. But obviously that’s me. Pretty good IPA for this beer wasteland venue.

On tap at Tavern 99 in Buckhead, Atlanta. Pours dark orange with a thin, tan head. The aroma is caramel, butterscotch, mild cheese, flowers, and peat. The flavor is very sweet, but well balanced with a good hop bitterness. The palate is light to medium, smooth, and quaffable. Overall, this is a very malty IPA, but very good. Would try again.
