Cimmerian Schwarzbier

More like a good dunkel than a Schwarzbier. Pours maroon with ok head and lacing. Light toast and some light raisin. Light clean finish here. Not a lot too this even compared to other Schwarzbiers, though it’s easy drinking. Light tang in finish. Tap at Right Proper.

4 oz pour on draft at Meridian Pint. Dark copper with off-white head. Aromas of malt, caramel, dark fruit. Tastes of malt, dark fruit, wheat, toasty notes. Medium body with a dry finish.

Draft at Scion. Clear brownish amber, tan head. Aroma of coffee grounds, cocia powder. Taste is toasted brownie crumbs dipped in caffe au lait. Light to medium body. Very tasty.

8oz pour? I think... at Spacebar. Poured a dark copper color with a small, wispy off-white head. Aroma was some mild roast notes, touch of light chocolate, molasses. Light raisin. Roasty, but light and easy to drink.

16oz pour at the brewery pours a murky but watery black with lots of foamy, off white head. Nose has bready notes, mild roast, cocoa powder, yeasty, mild toast. Inviting. Flavor has more molasses than the nose let’s on, not overly sweet though, chocolate, a little cola, bready, mild toast, some raisin. Thin finish, at least compared to what you think. That probably sounds bad but it is dry and incredibly drinkable.
