Double barrel aged stout aged 43 months in bourbon and blackberry mead barrels with vanilla beans.

For this second bottle release for our 8th anniversary we decided to bring some heat with a second double barrel-aged stout, but finished in some characterful barrels with the addition of vanilla. This beer spent 26 months in a combo of Stagg Jr and Woodford Reserve barrels, before being transferred to freshly emptied blackberry mead barrels for an additional 17 months to pick up some additional oak, juicy blackberry character, and a hint of honey. To add the finishing touch, we selected vanilla beans from two regions in Indonesia; West Papua and Alor Island, for their caramel, chocolate, burnt sugar and dark fruit character, and infused two pounds in each barrel for the final six weeks of aging. The resulting beer is rich and decadent with juicy blackberry and vanilla notes, balanced by oak and spirit with a pleasant kick.

Aroma: amazing American oak, chocolate, fruity notes, intense, bold, moderately to highly sweet.
Taste: along the same lines, very rich and nice. So much of fruity mead notes.
Overall: mind blowing, level of best MT stouts released before closing the BA program.
