Taster at Das Stahl. Pours dark brown, with a small, tan head. The aroma is dates, cardamom, black pepper, toffee, and plum. Sweet and malty and spicy, with a light bitterness. Heavy, grainy, and biting. Well made and fun.

Draft at the source. I’m having the BA version tomorrow at Free the Hops, so I figured I’d try the base first. Opaque ruby maroon color, beige head. Aroma of dates, raisins, plums. Taste has candied plums, stewed prunes, caramel. Nice.
