Back in the day Red IPAs ruled. Haze in your beer? Absolutely not. We wanted caramel, we wanted C-hops and we wanted it red. We’ll have you know that Superflux and Steel & Oak are elder millennials, but we are old enough when no one was afraid of crystal malt. Call it old school, call it a comeback, call it a beer we hope will sell being that it’s not 2009 anymore...either way, OK BOOMER(ANG) is here to remind you of how IPAs used to hit.

Dark amber, thick head. Toasty, a bit creamy. Lots of bitterness. Woody, piney, nice toffee, dark crystal malt…not chewy, delicious.

473mL can. Pours a very deep amber with a beige head. Loads of piney, resinous hops on the nose along with a chewy burnt caramel malt. Flavour is dry and bitter, loads of resin, woody pine, and burnt, almost charred caramel. Body is exactly where it needs to be. There we go.

Poured from 473mL can. Medium-dark mahogany brown with beige head. Piney resinous hops upfront with soft caramel malt underlay. Quite nice.

473mL can, pours a deep dark mahogany with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out lots of chewy resinous hops, a touch of pine, and a big caramel malt backbone. Flavour is much the same, revealing plenty of resinous hops, big caramel malt that borders on roast, finishing piney, bitter and dry. Sort of more like a black IPA than a red IPA with all that roast and bitterness. Excellent.
