TIPA Citra, Nelson Sauvin, Eggers Special, Galaxy
Voici ÉMERGENCE, notre nouvelle TIPA de 10% qui ne passe clairement pas inaperçue
Un line-up de houblons qui frappe fort :
Citra
Nelson Sauvin
Eggers Spécial
Galaxy

473ml can. Super hazy, yellow-ish golden colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, snow white head. Citrusy fruity and grassy, slightly vinous fruity, hoppy aroma, oaty malty background, notes of lemon, lemongrass, white grapes, some unripe kiwi fruit, pineapple, a touch of kumquat, vanilla overtones. Taste is intensely bitter and fruity, slightly grassy hoppy, sweet-ish, oaty malty and minimally alcoholic, citrusy fruity notes of lemon, lemon peel, some lemongrass, hints of white grapes, kiwi fruit, a tropical fruity base layer with hints of mango, yellow stone fruit, pineapple, a mildly spicy touch of vanilla, vanilla sugar; minimally alcoholic finish.
Dissolved sugar enriched, watery texture, dry palate, medium to fine, dense, mildly prickly carbonation.
Quite bitter, nevertheless still balanced due to a sufficiently sweet, if relatively thin malt body. Allusions to a Milkshake IPA because of the vanilla sweetness; intensity, fruitiness and relatively light body reminds me of the first encounter with Adroit Theory's Imperial IPAs. More often than not I challenge the raison d'être of TIPAs and QIPAs as there is no betterment compared to DIPAs in many respects, but in this case I'm not sure that the DIPA, brewed with the same ingredients and proportionally adjusted recipe would be better than the TIPA; and even if: this TIPA does not evoke the question: "What's all this in aid of?" disregarding he brewer's amusement - pretty good.

Heavy on the spearmint and a bit boozy but still tasty.
