Our American Brown is malt forward with a complex grain bill, with just enough balance coming from earthy and spicy hops.

Tap at J’s West Sixth tap takeover. Pours a clear deep amber to brown with a half-finger of foam that dissipates. Light caramel nose with a touch of leather. Tad sweet on the palate, but not cloying. Light and easy drinking. Simple and straightforward brown. --- Beer merged from original tick of Smithtown Brown on 21 Jan 2017 at 20:00 - Score: 7. Original review text: Light caramel nose. Kentucky Fried Charleston Trip Beer #25. Draft at the brewery. Pours a hazy dark amber color with a medium sized foamy tan head. Fair head retention. Weak aroma with notes of caramel and a mild peppery note. The taste is caramel malt, herbal hops, mild notes of tea and nuts. Thin-medium bodied.
