Death, From Edmonton is our latest collab with the crew at Sea Change Brewing Co, an Edmonton brewery known for big flavour, bold labels, and not taking themselves too seriously. Our kind of people.
This Hazy IPA is built around an almost irresponsible amount of Citra. We dip-hopped with Citra Incognito, dry-hopped with Citra, Citra Cryo, Citra Spectrum, and Nelson Sauvin, then finished it with Citra Prysma and Maui Nelson right before packaging. If you’re counting, yes. That’s a lot of Citra.
On the nose: sweet navel orange, mango, passionfruit.
On the palate: orange juice, grapefruit, lemon rind, pineapple, and a soft hazy body that carries it all without getting in the way.
Sea Change has built a name in Alberta for doing things their own way and building serious community around their beer. We figured we’d meet them halfway and turn it up.

Aroma: extreme hop burn, tropical fruits.
Taste: along the same lines, not aggressive, though.
Overall: surprisingly not aggressively hop burnt, nice.

On tap at Superflux. Pours opaque yellow with a white head. Citrus, allium, and hop burn on the nose. Flavour has plenty of allium, a bit lighter on the hop burn, citrus peels. Mouthfeel is okay, not gritty. Could be worse, but I really don't like the hop expression.

Mar 26, 2026 (7/3/6/3/12=3.1): Poured from 473mL can. Hazy yellow with small white head. More or less same rating.
Mar 23, 2026 (7/3/6/3/13=3.2): Cloudy yellow with small white head. Typical superflux fare - hop burn, a bit yeasty, citrus hops, average.

473ml can. Pours a cloudy yellow with yeast particles in suspension and a small, foamy, short lived, white head that laces. Sweet fruity aroma of bready wheat malt, orange, mango, earthy yeast and herbal hops. Sweet fruity flavour of bready wheat malt, grapefruit, lemon rind, pineapple, green grape, mango, earthy yeast and light piney hops in a dry, mild bitter finish. Medium body with a creamy, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Juicy and enjoyable.

Opaque. Dullish. The usual Superflux combo of citra and hop burn. Weak malt base, random burny stuff, and maybe some hop or whatever.
The YEG-YVR collab I want is Tristan bringing one of his unorthodox barrels like Uruguayan port or some shit up to Blind Enthusiasm. Let me know when that happens.
Looks like licor de tannat is the name. Make that shit happen. https://www.familiadeicas.com/en/portfolio-items/licor-de-tannat/
