Clear copper coloured body with a very thin, super fast-dying tan head that looks and sounds like a soda. Aroma of spices (of course) showing allspice, nutmeg, canella, cardamom and a bit of ginger as well. Light-bodied; Subdued malt and general beer flavours and just a sweet flavour showing a smooth spicey flavour that is almost like a ’pumpkin spice soda’ than anything else resembling a herb/spice beer. Aftertaste shows some light sweetness from caramel and fruits with a lot of residual spices and not much else. Overall, a pretty spicey, but underwhelming beer with the spices and grain and not much else to make this worthwhile. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Fair Lakes (Fairfax), Virginia on 06-November-2016 sampled just nineteen days later on 25-November-2016 at home in Upstate (New Paltz), New York for US$1,99.

12 ounce bottle from Wegman’s Lake Manassas, 8/22/14. Pours a hazy amber color with a thin creamy white head. Average head retention. Aroma of ginger, nutmeg, caramel malt. The taste is citrus, caramel, raisin, ginger, spice. Medium bodied, lingering spice.

Some spices in this make it a typical sugary pumpkin pie beer. Pours orange with OK head and lacing. Light sweet finish. Elements come together well if you are into this kind of thing. So the pumpkin season begins, already. Tasted this at the Giant by my place and needless to say I didn’t opt for a growler.

Bottle. Beer of the month club. Hazy amber with a medium off-white head. Aroma of pumpkin, honey, some malt, cinnamon, clove and other spices. Sweetish flavor with malt, caramel, honey notes and spices. Finishes slightly drier. Medium-bodied. OK. More drinkable than most pumpkin beers.
