On tap at the source. Poured a hazy dark brown color. Aroma is some vanilla barrel with bourbon notes. Dark fruits. Some funk notes. Flavor was nice bourbon barrel notes, smooth dark fruits, some alcohol comes though, but doesnt hit hard with the abv. Light funky notes.

Barrel reasonably well integrated but still lots of oak on top here. It overpowers some of the rest of the beer. Some hay and straw head. Pours black with ok head and lacing. Light bitter finish. Tap at brewpub.

Draft at the source, side by side with a reminder portion of the base beer. Deep opaque maroon color, thick beige head with good retention and solid lacing - pretty amazing for a barrel aged beer. Aroma is pure bourbon and rich vanilla, background of butterscotch. Taste is dark cocoa, more bourbon, vanilla, booze. Some if the complexity of the base beer is lost, as the barrel dominates this one. A bit too long in the barrel for my taste. Still very good, but I would like to have tried this a month or so ago.
