Our first unfiltered offering, Summer Swelter Ale is the perfect warm weather beer! Summer Swelter Ale is light and refreshing while still keeping your taste buds interested. The malt base features a hefty dose of wheat for a big, fluffy head and a soft, round body, yet keeps the beer drinkable even during the dog days. The light malt character is more than balanced by a blend of citrusy American hops, giving Swelter a crisp bitterness without being overpowering. The hoppy citrus aroma complements the ingredients that make this beer so unique: lemon and lime peel, Kaffir lime leaves, and lemongrass provide an subtle yet unmistakable floral nose and just a touch of bracing tartness, taking the refreshment of Swelter to the next level.

Somewhere: pours golden with a small white head. Aroma is bready and light hints of citrus. Taste is lightly fruity. Kind of bitter. Mineral water aftertaste. Not too great.

On cask @ The Gingerman. This is a soft blurry bright golden colored one with more than what I expect from a cask head. Medium sized clearly white, lacing and lasting! The aroma is really mild. So mild, that I'm struggling to get anything at all except a mild sweet herbalness. Oh, this has a lot of things going on at once in the taste this. It's really herbal, Asian infused. Grassy and zesty. Also it's really spicy with ginger, lemongrass and cinnamon. Quite a thin one texture vise and it's near flat on the bubbles. Soft sweetish tail. Like it more and more. 17.06.2015

LSAT Freedom Trip #187. 12 ounce can from Whole Foods Portland, ME. Hazy straw yellow, large foamy off-white head good retention. Aroma of citrus, lemongrass, wheat. The taste is citrus, pale malt, wheat, lemongrass. Medium bodied, just the faintest bit muddled.

Pours a hazy yellow from a can. Strong lemon aroma, thought I was in for a shandy, but the citrus flavor is rather toned down from the aroma. Okay beer.

On tap at Firefly Slightly hazy light golden color medium short lived head. Spicy earthy hop bite clashes a bit with the citrus and spice that at times are overbearing. One and done for this guy.

Draught at Cooper’s Craft and Kitchen. Clear yellow with small whitish head, very faint citrus aroma, high carbonation, thin body, weakly citrusy taste, abrupt finish with lightly bitter aftertaste. Not a great beer, but should be OK for a summer ale.
