Pours a dark copper-brown with small, lingering head. Aroma of malt, bread, caramel. Flavor was very smooth, with the oak quite distinct, along with a lot of sweet malt, caramel, coffee, etc.

4oz pour at Churchkey DC. Pours a clear caramel amber with some creamy, white head. Nose is quite nice, some caramel malt, a little pear, apple, earthy, perhaps a hint of wood, a definite hint of smoke. Flavor is very nice, gentle, malt, apple, pear, light wood, light caramel, a little cream soda. Medium bodied, crisp finish. Well crafted.

Pours amber. Smells a little roasty. Not sure what to say other than it’s a bit sweet and the texture is watery. Tap takeover at Churchkey.

Shared at CK with gendv138 and solidfunk. Thanks. I don’t really know if this was the beer or my empty stomach, but man - I was actively repulsed by this particular beer’s aroma - I mean repulsed bad. Bad, awful, sicking. I don’t know what was going on - flavor was actually not too bad. Sweet malt, light citrus notes.

On tap at SPSBF. Pours a clear deep red with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has some dark grains with a bit of smokiness and a backing earthing oak note. Flavor again has dark grains with a hint of dark fruit and a good amount of oak barrel underlying.

Enjoyed as a guest draft at Dark Lord Day at 3 Floyd’s in Munster, IN. Appearance a coffee brown with a rich tan head. Aroma honestly like smoked malts and meat, like beef jerky. Taste is fantastic, really creamy but crisp at the same time, a bit of roasted and smoked malts, a bit of German lager yeast as well. One of the most complex lagers I’ve had. Very good.
